The 2025 Europe Triathlon Multisport Championships Navarra-Pamplona has designed a sustainability strategy
The 2025 Europe Triathlon Multisport Championships Navarra-Pamplona has designed a sustainability strategy that integrates:
- Social criteria, guaranteeing universal accessibility, equal opportunities and inclusion.
- Economic criteria, promoting efficiency in the use of resources, responsible consumption and the reduction of emissions.
- Environmental criteria, minimising the impact on climate, ecosystems and biodiversity.
The main objective is to prevent negative impacts, move towards a more sustainable model and align with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
Implementation in all phases of the event
Sustainability is present at every stage of the event:
- Planning
- Organising the event

- Celebration
- Dismantling
A collective commitment
The success of this strategy depends on the involvement of all the actors involved:
- Athletes
- Organisers
- Partners
- Sponsors
- Volunteers
- Public
Communication as a fundamental pillar
To ensure true sustainability, communication plays a key role. Both internal and external communication are essential to raise awareness and align all participants: staff, sponsors, athletes, volunteers and public attending the event.
Sustainability objectives of the 2025 Europe Triathlon Multisport Championships Navarra-Pamplona
Aware of the impact that an event of this magnitude can have on the environment, the organisers of the Half Triathlon Pamplona Iruña have reinforced their commitment to sustainability, incorporating specific measures to reduce their ecological footprint such as the use of ecological cups in the refreshment areas during the foot race, the distribution of reusable jerry cans among the participants for the cycling sector, the installation of specific areas for the collection of waste along the circuits or the implementation of an environmental awareness plan aimed at both athletes and fans.
These actions seek to promote an environmentally responsible model of competition, in tune with the values of sport and respect for the natural environment of Navarre as indicated in FORAL DECREE 36/2024, OF APRIL 17, ON PUBLIC EVENTS AND SUSTAINABILITY. BON No. 91 – 05/03/2024
